This is a blog maintained by David Noon and the students enrolled in Social Science 102, “Reading and Writing in the Social Sciences,” taught at the University of Alaska Southeast.  It is intended primarily as a collaborative learning project that orients students to new media while enhancing their understanding of the various social sciences.  This blog will enable students to highlight and comment on economic, anthropological, historical, political, psychological and sociological issues that are currently relevant beyond the comparatively narrow world of academic publishing.
